The following set of illustrations were done as part of a collaboration with Manchán Magan, Irish author and film maker, and Enda Brennan, an Irish-American writer.

For this series of images I illustrated a set of 12 words from Dinneen’s Irish-English Dictionary (Foclóir Gaedhilge agus Béarla) published in 1904.

I was set with the task of illustrating the complexity of a lexicon. The set of drawings express the wonder and beauty of the Enda’s descriptions, at the same time speaking to the serious nature of Dictionary words.

Luckily Magan thought this was something I achieved and described them as ‘alluring’. The drawings and written descriptions by Enda were displayed on Manchan, mine and Edna’s instagram pages and were well received.
